Wants you To KNOW

Hampton is a bucolic farming community with pastoral views as you drive down Route 97, one of Hampton’s main thoroughfares. Also known as Main Street in Hampton, it has many historic houses that lay claim to Hampton’s picturesque setting. Incorporated in 1786 in the county of Windham, it shares many of the farming activities that continue today in many of northeast Connecticut communities—buying local is a hallmark and supplier of our farmers’ markets throughout the region. We are working with surrounding towns to provide administrative tasks to keep Hampton independent. We remain proud of the volunteer activities that many of our residents provide, including the skilled and highly responsive fire department, and the volunteers who employ their expertise on our various boards and commissions that keep Hampton in control of our future.
