Wants you To KNOW

The Town of Greenwich was first settled in 1640, making it one of the oldest towns in Connecticut. At 67 square miles, Greenwich is also one of the largest towns in the state. Greenwich is the Gateway to New England, located in the Southwestern corner of Fairfield County on Long Island Sound. Located only 28 miles from New York City, Greenwich has a population of 63,455. A significant number of the town's residents are executive, professional, technical and managerial people employed in New York City. Greenwich is also home to a number of industrial and corporate headquarters of nationally known firms. However, the Town’s diversity is often overlooked and only adds to its vitality and civic pride as participation in the many boards, committees, commissions, and task forces is extremely high. The Town has four municipal beaches, four municipal harbors, twenty public parks, a hospital, and one municipal golf course, and very close proximity to a regional airport on its northwest bo
