Wants you To KNOW

Nestled along the shoreline of Long Island Sound, Clinton is a charming New England town with a rich history, vibrant community, and coastal appeal. Originally settled in 1663 and incorporated in 1838, Clinton played a prominent role in Connecticut’s shipbuilding and trade industries. Fun fact: Clinton is home to the narrowest point of U.S. Route 1 along the entire East Coast! Clinton offers a wide range of recreational and cultural experiences. Residents and visitors alike enjoy the bustling marinas, beautiful town beach, and our free summer trolley that runs on weekends, connecting locals and tourists to key destinations. Clinton also has a thriving arts community and a lively Main Street with local shops and restaurants, including the famous Lobster Landing. Two events residents look forward to every year are the Annual Summerfest & Fireworks in August and Christmas in Clinton in early December—a magical evening that truly gets you into the holiday spirit.
